The Inspiration
​The Inspiration for Binjamin The Dumpster came around 2017. I had moved back to Texas from California after pursing my dream of breaking into the music industry through music production. I made some progress but in the end I found myself losing my connection and purpose in that field. After making the difficult decision to pack things up and move back to Texas and start over I found myself feeling lost and my purpose fleeting. Feeling particularly low one day, I went on my 15min break outside to clear my head and noticed a dump truck pulling into the back ally to load up a dumpster to be emptied. In that moment the thought "that must be that dumpsters favorite moment" popped into my head. I then imagined the truck lifting up the dumpster like a parent lifts their child to play airplane. the visual of this dumpster pretending to fly made me smile. At this moment I felt so down that I wanted to feel this projected happiness I was putting into this dumpster, and to what ever extent, I did! I didn't do much with this visual and feeling I had for a long while. I would share this idea with others and I found that it brought a smile to whomever I told it to. Eventually I decided to finally make it happen and write "Binjamin The Dumpster! Binjamin in a lot of ways represents my journey to California and a pursuit for a dream that didn't pan out the way I expected it to. Like Binjamin finally receiving a new purpose at the end of the story he could not have imagined, I to found myself finding a new purpose as a story teller.

Inspiration
When I was a child I went to a pet shop and had the opportunity to get my first Hermit Crab. I was so excited. after about a couple weeks I looked into the tank and realized the hermit crab was missing! To my kid brain I felt like It was lost for months (in reality it was probably about a week or so). Then one day as I was looking for a toy behind the couch. There he was! just going about his day. This story is about all the things this hermit crab encountered on his adventure living on its own being lost in the house.
